Press Release | 10 March, 2021

Former Groupon Head of Field Sales, Brian Smith, has joined Onvi as Commercial Director. His appointment represents a key hire as the company continues to scale and secure its position as the industry-leading mobile Order and Pay solution within the hospitality sector.

Leaning on his 15 years of commercial experience in building first-class sales teams to grow market share, Smith is tasked with repeating his success in leading Groupon’s rapid growth by putting Onvi’s enterprise-level software solution into the hands of SMEs.

On joining Onvi, Brian Smith said,

I am delighted to now be a part of the Onvi team. With the acceleration of the way payment habits have changed through the pandemic, Onvi offers a truly unique and scalable product that appeals to today’s consumers.

I am excited about getting this technology into the hands of as many hospitality businesses as possible and being a part of Onvi’s vision to provide operators with the tools needed to increase their profitability.

Smith joins Onvi at an exciting time as the company invests in further enhancing their software, taking the brand from a mobile Order and Pay solution to a complete sales platform; providing operators with everything needed to manage and market their online ordering without over-reliance on expensive third-party aggregators. Smith’s focus will be on developing the field sales team within the UK and expanding the footprint in international markets such as the US, where Onvi is already establishing a presence.

Speaking on the new appointment, Onvi founder & CEO Prask Sutton said:

Brian’s an extremely accomplished commercial leader and his joining Onvi is a massive win for the business. His experience developing and motivating sales teams will be invaluable in driving the success of our ambitious growth plans, which will in turn enable hospitality operators to increase revenues, reduce costs and embrace the ever-growing demand for digital ordering.
